This is a quick message to say that, once again my poker table is used to display progression of my current build. Bass #008 is evolving slowly but surely.

I must admit that since our little girl came to life, my schedule got limited. Not because being a father take too much time. The problem is my installation: having my work area in the basement, just under the bedrooms is not the best setup. I can't use any power tools past 8h00pm because of the noise it makes and I have a dust management problem. I need a better shop and I am currently evaluating different options. Whatever the result will be, I want to be able to at least maintain my current build pace.

As the title says, I want to wish a happy new year to every owner of my basses, visitors of this site and anyone on my waiting list. My goal in 2010 is to keep the pace even if I am the father of a wonderfull little girl. During the holidays, I took time to work on my current order, bass #008. I've done alot on the body and the neck is going well too.

An other great news is that I will have some help building basses. My father recently retired for the second time. In 1998 he retired too young and he got an other job. At 64 year old, he felt it was time to stop worring about job so he offered me help. I asked him to prepare some wood for the neck of my no-scroll prototype. This bass is on shelf since last summer if not before. I want to complete it to be able to offre something new to my customers. The goal of this prototype is to see how the overall balance and the instrument will be and also to test a new kind of headstock featuring 4 tuner on the left side instead of a 2L-2R configuration.
